Mrs. Mary Viola Coe York

Mrs. Mary Viola Coe York, age 97 of Dobson, passed away on Friday morning May 11, 2007 at the Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mt. Airy. Mrs. York was born in Surry County on November 1, 1909 to the late John William Coe and the late Jeanettie Ayers Ashburn Coe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jay Burette York; two daughters Jeanettie York and Wanda York Fortner; by three sons
Franklin James York, John William York and Dwight Alford York; one grandson; one sister and three brothers. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Juanita and Leonard Hodges of Dobson; one son and daughter-in-law Jack T. and Gladys York of Yadkinville. Funeral Services will be held 7:00 P.M. Sunday evening in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson. Burial will follow on Monday 11:00 A.M. in the Cemetery of Zion Baptist Church in Iredell County. Rev. Alton Bledsoe will officiate the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 5:30 P.M. until time of the Funeral Service.
