Mrs. Melba Fox Schwend

Mrs. Melba Fox Schwend, age 88, of Dobson, NC passed away on January 1, 2019, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.  She was born in Forsyth County, NC to the late Glenn Franklin Fox and the late Collie Mae Johnson Fox.  She was a retired Secretary, a member of Maple Springs Methodist Church, and attended Dobson First Baptist Church.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Nelson Bradford Butner, and her second husband, Robert Lee Schwend; sister, Margaret Parks; brother, Charles Fox. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and RJ White Jr.; granddaughter, Cameron and Matt Cockerham; great-granddaughter, Reid Cockerham; grandson, Brad White and Tara Caudill; sister, Nancy Reisinger.  A private funeral will be held by Moody-Davis Funeral Home, and Mrs. Schwend will be entombed at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston Salem.  The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Dobson First Baptist Church Building Fund PO Box 278, Dobson, NC 27017 or to the St. Jude’s  Children Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.  There will be no formal Public Services held at the Funeral Home.
