Mrs. Minnie Morrison Mangrum, age 89 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on November 15, 1923 to the late Henry Lee and Myrtle Hash Morrison. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mangrum was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Mangrum; three sisters, Ruth Bennett, Eva Dehart and Annie Pilson; and one half brother, James Edward Morrison. She was a longtime member of Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mrs. Mangrum is survived by one daughter, Norma Lee Mangrum of Stuart; one son and daughter-in-law, John Roger and Kathy Mangrum of Stuart; two grandsons, Dr. Bradley Mangrum and Tracy Mangrum; two half brothers, Amos Morrison of Stuart and Claude Morrison of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and two half sisters, Nancy Martin of Laurel Fork and Marie Brink of Pompano Beach, Florida.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mangrum will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Kenneth Terry and Brother Amos Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
