Mrs. Minnie Mae Wilson Morris

Mrs. Minnie Mae Wilson Morris, age 86 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Botetourt County, Virginia on September 28, 1923 to the late Charles and Rose Dillard Wilson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, William McDaniel Morris; one grandson, William Morris; two brothers, James and Tom Wilson; and four sisters, Laura McDaniels Maude Ruff, Rachael Wilson and Mary Wilson. She worked at Layman's Apple Orchard for years and retired as a housewife. She was a member of the Church of God in Fincastle.
Mrs. Morris is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, William Robert Morris and Carole Finnegan of Germantown, Maryland, John Douglas and Carolyn Sue Morris of Stuart, Kelvin Neil and Peggy Morris of Roanoke, and James Arnold and Gay Morris of Roanoke; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ilene Flannagan of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Cemetery with Pastor Jim Churchwell officiating. The family will meet at other times at the home of her son, John Morris, 3358 Fairystone Highway, Stuart. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is handling the arrangements.
