Mrs. Mozelle Marshall Hawks Puckett

Mrs. Mozelle Marshall Hawks Puckett, age 87, of West End, NC, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Puckett was born in Patrick County on August 24, 1929, to Ulus and Elsie Dawson Marshall. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Goldie and Wayne Edwards; step daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Richard Frye, Deborah and Ronnie Bowman; a step daughter-in-law, Betty Stanley; grandchildren, Thomas Matlock, IV, Wayne Kennedy, Frankie Puckett, Hazel Blake, and David Kennedy; several great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nellie and Otto Hiatt, Betty and Bobby Gates, Hazel and Warren Easter, Velma Anders and Robert Nichols; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Marshall, Clyde and Peggy Marshall, Billy and Velda Marshall, Clifford and Judy Marshall, Delight Marshall and Patsy Marshall; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by her first husband, Garnat Hawks; her second husband, Otis Puckett; a step daughter, Louise Leonard; step sons, Dwight Puckett and Danny Puckett; brothers, Owen Marshall, Milbern Marshall, John Marshall, and Herman Marshalla, a sister Ocie Nichols a step granddaughter Lynn Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 14, 2017, at Doe Run Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Pittman, Rev. Rayton Puckett, and Rev. Jennings O’neil. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home of Mt.
