Mrs. Myrtle Estelle Duncan Jackson

Mrs. Myrtle Estelle Duncan Jackson, 77, of 360 Massey Road, Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, June 21, 2013, at Golden Living Center. Mrs. Jackson was born October 4, 1935, in Carroll County, VA, the daughter of the late Albert and Hester Bryant Duncan. Myrtle was a homemaker and a member of Joylight Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Roscoe Hudson of Mount Airy; three sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Carol Jackson, Tim and Michelle Jackson, and Eddie and Tina Jackson, all of Mount Airy; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Faye Freeman of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Odell Jackson; three sisters, Ella McCoy, Emma Jessup, and Etta Jessup; and two brothers, Virgil Duncan and Rayburn Duncan. The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dale Bass officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
