Mrs. Nancy Jane Fleming Collins, 65 of Mt. Airy left this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, May 24, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on August 6, 1947 to the late Bert Roosevelt and Grace Childress Fleming. Mrs. Collins graduated from Mount Airy High School in 1966 and worked for Western Southern Insurance for 15 years and later worked for KDH until the plant closed. Mrs. Collins was a loving mother and grandmother that loved to play bingo and cook for her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, W.L. Collins of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Brian Brim and Pam and Frank Shelton; and one son Travis Collins; two granddaughters Emily Brim and Josie Shelton all from Mt. Airy and two sisters Vera Dean Battles from Mt. Airy N.C. and Jacqueline Rentz from Waynesville, MO. and special pet, Daisy May. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers Jimmy, Elmo, and Leo Fleming and a sister Mary Lillie Fleming Teter. Mrs. Collins will be missed by all who were lucky enough to meet her. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 27, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Oakdale Cemetery with Rev. Chris Benfield and Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 1:30 pm until the time to leave for the service.
