Mrs. Nancy Louise Gunter Hazelwood

Mrs. Nancy Louise Gunter Hazelwood, age 81 of Stuart, Virginia passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. She was born on May 8, 1936 in Patrick County to the late Turner Walter Gunter and Mary Goard Gunter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Randy D. Armstrong. She was a member of Five Forks Wesleyan Church and was a woman of strong Christian faith, who truly loved God. Nancy enjoyed reading and sewing. She was the type of person, who no matter what was going on, she always had a smile on her face. Her best medicine and greatest joy came in the form of her granddaughters and great grandchildren; she was a loving and devoted grandma.

Mrs. Hazelwood is survived by her adoring husband of 58 years, Glen F. Hazelwood of the home; a daughter, Mildred Armstrong of Walnut Cove, NC; two granddaughters, Amanda Stephens (Nate) and Sara Sullivan (Derek); four great grandchildren, Kaleigh Stephens, Bryson Stephens, Jack Stephens, and Tyler Sullivan; and loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hazelwood will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor J.R. Shelton, Pastor Jeff Jeffers, and Derek Sullivan officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Five Forks Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the homeplace of Herman and Mary Ruth Hazelwood.
