Mrs. Nancy Bradley Knott

Mrs. Nancy Bradley Knott, age 71, of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017, at her home in the care of her devoted daughters. Mrs. Knott was born in Rutherford County on March 26, 1946, to the late Robert and Nadine Woodlief Bradley. She enjoyed the opportunity to help shape young minds and made many lasting friends during her 32 years as a high school English teacher at Surry Central High School. Mrs. Knott was known by her students as “Mama Knott”. She was a dedicated Christian and of the Baptist Faith. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are her daughters, Sarah Knott; and Mary Beth Knott-Overby, a granddaughter, Lila Nadine Overby, the father of her granddaughter, Andy Overby, a brother and sister-in-law, Robert H. and Rhonda Bradley, a brother in law and sister-in-law, Tony and Betty Knott, several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Knott was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Knott and a sister, Patricia Eloise Bradley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Salem Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by Rev. Shane Nixon, Dr. Nelson Gardner, Rev. Austin Caviness, and Rev. Rusty Reed. Entombment will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
