Mrs. Nannie Berthena "Nan" Parker Boyd

Mrs. Nannie Berthena " Nan" Parker Boyd, age 80, of Mount Airy died at Central Continuing Care on Friday August 23, 2013. Mrs. Boyd was born in Surry County, August 23, 1933 the daughter of the late Jasper Daniel and Ida Mae Taylor Parker. Mrs. Boyd was retired from Sara Lee Corporation and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving area her husband of 53 years, George Ervin Boyd of the home, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gladys Boyles of Cana, VA and Brenda Faye Maines and Lonnie, Winston-Salem, a half sister, Lucille Moore, Ky. several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy Parker, Curtis Ray Parker and an infant brother. Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev. Dwight Sechrist. Burial will follow in the Hutchens-Venable Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2:30 pm Sunday until the hour of the funeral service at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Fancy Gap Baptist Church 1161 West Lebanon St., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
