Mrs. Nannie Matthews Cockerham

Mrs. Nannie Matthews Cockerham age 87 of 205 Highland Dr. Mt. Airy passed away on Thursday November 19, 2015 at the Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Cockerham was born May 3, 1928 in Surry County to the late Ben and Lula Sechrist Matthews. Mrs. Cockerham was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband Ora Cockerham of the home, one daughter and son-in-law Linda and Gray Browder of Mt. Airy, two grandchildren Heather and Charles Golding of Dobson and Matthew Cockerham of Dobson, two great grandchildren Courtney Gammons and Devin Gammons and by one sister Maude Meredith of Ararat, NC. In addition to her parents Mrs. Cockerham was preceded in death by two children Brenda Cockerham and Bruce Cockerham, by five sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.
