Mrs. Nannie Biggs Griffin

Mrs. Nannie Biggs Griffin, age 93 of Stuart passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007 at R.J. Reynolds Patrick Memorial Hospital. She was born in Patrick County on November 23, 1913 to the late Enoch Biggs and Verda Corns Biggs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis Lee Griffin; three brothers, Gilmer, Boyd, and Raymond Biggs; and two sisters Beatrice Wood and Katherine Biggs.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Lottie Ann & husband, Kirby Smart of Stuart; a son and daughter-in-law, David Lee Griffin and wife, Janice of Stuart; a sister, Elva Cassady of Stuart; 7 granddaughters, Arlisa Johnson of Stuart, Anissa Smart of Spencer, Autumn Smith of Prince George, VA, Christy Smith of Stuart, Annika Chilton of Ararat, Angel Smart of Stuart and Joni Acerson of Salt Lake City, UT; 6 great grandsons, Travis Johnson, Andrew Smith, Landon Chilton, Trenton Smith, John Kirby Smith, and Jaheim Johnson; and a step-great granddaughter, Shelisa Penn.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 11:00am at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Rev. Gary Combs and Rev. Curtis Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
