Mrs. Nellie Lelia Puckett Barnard

Mrs. Nellie P. Barnard, age 80, of Meadows of Dan passed away at her home on Friday morning, September 21, 2007. She was born October 8, 1926 in Patrick County to the late Samuel "Sambo" Puckett and the late Dora Lee Cockran Puckett. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Boyd and a brother, Charlie Puckett. Mrs Barnard was a housewife and co-owner of Hurricane Ridge Dairy.
Mrs. Barnard is survived by her husband Gene Garfield Barnard of the home. Three daughters; Deborah Jean Barnard DeHart and her husband Danny of Patrick Springs, Dorothy Lelia Barnard Dalton and her husband Robert Curtis of Meadows of Dan, Judy Lynn Barnard of Meadows of Dan; two sons, Lesley David Barnard and his wife Laura of Meadows of Dan and Gary Jehu Barnard and his wife Helen of Stuart. Two brothers Otis Puckett and wife Clara of Meadows of Dan and Leonard Puckett and wife Evelyn Puckett of Chesterfield, VA. a sister Thelma Puckett Lewis of Martinsville. Grandchildren; Susan Parks and husband Ben, James Barnard, Alicia Therault and husband Patrick, Justin DeHart, David Barnard, Dawn Barnard, Benjamin G. Harris and wife Rachael, Angela Harris, Michaela Barnard-Wester, Shylah Barnard-Wester, two great-grandchildren; Nathan Parks and Thomas Smith. Special friends and caregivers, Candy Galliana, Mary Lynn Massey, Anita Coleman and Tina Puckett.
Funeral services for Mrs. Barnard will be Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 2:00PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart, conducted by Rev. Lowell Willis. Burial will follow at Barnard Family Cemetery in Meadows of Dan. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 22, 2007 from 6 to 8PM at Moodys in Stuart.
