Mrs. Nellie Faye Gery

Mrs. Nellie Faye Gery, 80, of Mt. Airy Passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born March 11, 1936 to the late George Ellis and Trusty Emmaline Bryant Thomas. Mrs. Gery was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Mrs. Gery worked for 25 years in the snack shop at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 61 years; John Gery of the home, a daughter; Kathy Sue Gery, a son; John Calvin Gery; a granddaughter; Crystal Gery, two brothers and sisters- in-law; Herman and Casper Thomas, Terry Lee and Nellie Thomas, three sisters; Vivian Lakey, Delphia Chappell, and Kathy Payne. In addition to her parents Mrs. Gery was preceded in death by four brothers; Arvil, Aubrey, Kenneth, and McArthur Thomas. The family would like to express their appreciation to Mrs. Gery’s caregiver Christine Mabe for her care given to Mrs. Gery. funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM with services conducted by Rev. Ronald Thomas. Burial will follow at skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
