Mrs. Norma Lee "Lou" Ring Swaim

Mrs. Norma Lee "Lou" Ring Swaim, age 89 of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Surry County on October 27, 1922 to the late Irvin Scott and Etta Caroline Patterson Ring. Mrs. Swaim owned Lou's Beauty Shop was a hairdresser for over 50 years; she retired only ten years ago. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Charlene Swaim of the home; two grandchildren, Amy Caroline Shirley of Kernersville and Chad Evan Swaim of Charlotte; great grandchildren, Evan Allen and Emma Shirley; two sisters, Joann Rollings of Pfafftown and Estelle Carlyle of Siloam; a brother and sister-in-law, Annie Kay, Bill Ring of Winston Salem. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swaim was preceded in death by three sisters, June Carroll Ring, Hazel Bunker and Jackie Swaim; and three brothers, Cecil, Marshall and Ted Ring. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Siloam Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Faw officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.The Swaim family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy on Sunday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
