Mrs. Ocie Slate Stephenson

Mrs. Ocie Anne Slate Stephenson, age 92 of Vesta, passed away at RJR Patrick Memorial Hospital, Saturday, October 14, 2006. She was born in Patrick County on July 28, 1914 to the late John Slate and Mary Ruth Burnette Slate. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Stephenson; a son, Michael Lee Stephenson; three brothers, Claude, Forester and William Slate; and two sisters, Emma Archibald and Dorothy Enna.
She is survived by several nieces and two very special friends, Luther Walton and Valerie Shelor both of Meadows of Dan.
Graveside services for Mrs. Stephenson will be held Monday, October 16, 2006 at 2:00pm at Maple Shade Cemetery in Laurel Fork with Alfred Hylton Officiating. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com. Moody Funeral Services in Stuart is in charge of arrangements.
