Mrs. Opal Lee Marion McCraw

Mrs. Opal Lee Marion McCraw, age 89, of Cana, passed away, Saturday, February 25, 2017, at her home. Mrs. McCraw was born in Carroll County, VA on September 17, 1927, to William Henry Marion, Jr. and Lela Mae Marion. She taught school in the Carroll County School System for many years and then later retired as a CNA. Surviving are sons and a daughter-in-law, Keith McCraw; Cheryle and Stephanie McCraw; grandchildren, Heather Parker and husband Vince; and Tiffany Bowman and husband, Casey; great grandchildren, Nathaniel Jones, Faith Jones, Ezekiel Webb, Rachel Parker and Josie Parker; sisters, Lucille Evans and Edith Jones; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Marion, Edsel and Louise Marion and Betty Marion. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCraw was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben McCraw; and a brother, Jimmie Marion. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 27, 2017 at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Jimmy McCraw. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home.
