Mrs. Orea Lawless Scott

Mrs. Orea Lawless Scott, age 84 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was born in Patrick County on April 21, 1932 to the late Tommy Lee and Belle Lackey Lawless. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Scott; four sisters, Verna Lawson, Claire Lawson, Vada Compton and Ola Stone; and a brother, Irvin Lawless. She was a longtime member of Elamsville Church of God of Prophecy where she was a missionary leader, a Sunday school teacher, and member of the choir. She was a loving wife, mother, granny, sister, aunt and friend.

Mrs. Scott is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James Edward and Vera Scott of Stuart; two grandchildren, Amy Elizabeth Hensley and husband, Don, Jamie Leigh Scott and wife, Jennifer; one step grandson, Richard Whitlock and wife, Donna; seven great-grandchildren; Taylor Holleman and husband, Justin, Spencer Hensley, Mason, Madison, Mariah, Millicent and Maddox Scott; four step-great-grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe and Riley Hostetter, and Carla Ann Whitlock; a brother, Ray Lee Lawless of Ridgeway; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Greg Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Elamsville Church of God of Prophecy cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
