Mrs. Patsy Blackwell Mabe

Mrs. Patsy Blackwell Mabe, age 67 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was born in Abingdon on January 22, 1949 to the late John Henry Blackwell, Jr. and Virginia Pope Blackwell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mabe was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Clarence Mabe, Jr.; and one brother, Danny Blackwell. She was a member of Ross Harbour United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Mabe is survived by one son, Harold Mabe, III and wife, Serena of Stuart; one daughter, Susan Bullins and husband, Jason of Stuart; seven grandchildren, Joseph Mabe, Noah Mabe, Tayman Bullins, Bryson Bullins, Camden Bullins, Tyler Manson and Jonathan Manson; one great-grandchild, Minetta Randolph; her mother-in-law, Golda Mabe of Stuart; four sisters, Clara B. Price of Glade Springs, Linda B. Bowers of Damascus, Betty B. Snavely of Meadowview and Mary B. Gallliher of Bassett; and four brothers, Charles, Bill, Jerry and Earl Blackwell, all of Abingdon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabe will be held Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Ross Harbour United Methodist Church with Pastor Sandy Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Mabe Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Patsy Blackwell Mabe Memorial Fund, c/o Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 307, Stuart, Virginia 24171.
