Mrs. Patty Cox Trexler

Mrs. Patty Cox Trexler, age 86, of Stuart, passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at Sovah Health in Martinsville. She was born on Nov. 1, 1931 in Blairs, VA to the late Joe Leonard Cox and Esther Richardson Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray “Slim” Trexler; a great granddaughter, Kaylee Strader; two sisters, Peggy Willis, Ruth Davidson; and five brothers, Aubrey, Earl, Nathaniel, William, and Robert Cox. Mrs. Trexler was a member of High Point Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Barry Vaughn of Richmond, VA; one son, Robert Thompson of Germanton, NC; 7 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and one brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Portia Cox of Danville, VA.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 at 1:00 PM at High Point Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Aaron’s Corner Primitive Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the High Point Baptist Church Building Fund c/o Terry Amos, 439 Biggs Lane, Stuart, VA 24171.
