Mrs. Paula Sue Badgett Hamlin

Mrs. Paula Sue Badgett Hamlin, age 66, of Mount Airy passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born January 1, 1952 to the late Jack and Thelma Rakes Badgett. Mrs. Hamlin was retired from Hillsville Elementary School where she served many years as a teacher. Left to cherish her memories are her husband; Wally Hamlin of the home; sister, Mary Badgett; nephews, Zachary C. Jurney and Paul N. Harold; niece, Angela Miller; and a grand-nephew, Matthew R. Miller. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hamlin was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Hawks and a brother, Jack Preston Badgett. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 18 at 11:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy with services conducted by Rev. Doug Miller. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any one of the following charities; Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, 3655 Reed St., Winston-Salem, NC 27107, The Shepherds House, 227 Rockford St., Mount Airy, NC 27030 or Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
