Mrs. Peggy East Johnson

Mrs. Peggy East Johnson, age 89, of Mount Airy passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Universal Health Care in King. She was born March 23, 1928 to the late Allen and Maxie East. Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church for many years, and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Left to cherish her memories are a son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Diana Johnson; a son-in-law, Jerry Goff; two grandchildren, Martha Goff and Beth Zyglis and husband Eric; a great-grandchild, Josie Sockwell; a sister Martha Bryant; and a special nephew, Eddie Hiatt. In addition to her parents Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Johnson; and a daughter Sue Goff. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Skyline Memory Gardens with services conducted by Rev. Robert McCrary. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 9:30 AM until time to leave for the service.
