Mrs. Polly Mildred Blizard Prim

Mrs. Polly Mildred Blizard Prim, age 89, of Mount Airy, died Sunday February 7, 2016, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Prim was born in Surry County on October 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Carl A. and Myrtle Harrison Blizard. Mrs. Prim was retired from Spencer’s Inc., and was a long time member of the Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mount Airy. Surviving are her son and daughter -in-law, Tony and Margaret Prim of Hopkinsville, KY, nieces, Cindy B. Ritenour, and Debbie Blizard; nephews, Ricky Blizard and Terry Blizard. In addition to her parents Mrs. Prim was preceded in death by her husband, Dixie Lou Prim, sisters, Peggy B. Byrd, Lucille Brinkley, Carlene Blizard, and her brother Wayne Blizard. Her funeral services will be held at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday February 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM, with Dr. David Sparks officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The Prim family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church, 120 Pentecostal Church Road Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to the Central Continuing Care Christmas Fund, 1287 Newsome St. Mount Airy, NC 27030.
