Mrs. Polly Ann Hiatt Stevens

Mrs. Polly Ann Hiatt Easter Stevens, age 77 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Stevens was born in Carroll County on November 16, 1934 to Thomas Lester and Mattie Ellen Fleming Hiatt. She was retired from Spencer's Inc. and Ridgecrest Retirement. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Yolanda and Shirley Holt of Westfield; Demeatrice and Charles Edwards of Cana; Yvette and Ricky Sisk of Pilot Mountain, and Amanda and Aaron Combs of Cana; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen "Hedge" Hiatt of Hillsville; Nancy and Gray Utt of Ararat, VA; Gay and J. B. Dunn of Advance; Lucy and Don Mills of Pilot Mountain and brothers and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Mary Hiatt of Fancy Gap and Gilbert Hiatt of Cana. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her first husband, Coy Easter, her second husband, James Stevens; a son, Cotton Easter; a great granddaughter, Ashley Leonard; a sister, Mable Hiatt and brothers, Lester Hiatt, Stuart Hiatt, Clyde Hiatt and Doug Hiatt. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Skyline Memory Gardens by Rev. Charles Fishel and Rev. Tommy Vass. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home from 10:30 until the time to depart to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Bethel Moravian Church at Mt. Bethel Ch. Rd., Cana, VA 24317.
