Mrs. Rena Maude Leonard Shelton

Mrs. Rena Maude Leonard Shelton, 90, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on October 15, 1925 to the late Thomas Walker and Sarah King Leonard. Mrs. Shelton was retired from Quality Mills and attended Mt. Airy Wesleyan Church. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William Duke Shelton of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Donna Shelton, Kevin and Donna Shelton all of Mt. Airy; Seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by six sisters, and four brothers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Airy Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Eric Smith, and the Rev. Richard Loman officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time for the service at the church.
