Mrs. Reva Washburn Hopkins

Mrs. Reva Washburn Hopkins, age 83 of Stuart, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy, North Carolina. She was born in Henry County on May 29, 1927 to the late James Emmett and Stella Minter Washburn. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by five sisters, Hazel Gunter, Helen Spencer, Rachel Gunter, Pauline Wiggington and Lorene Smith, and five brothers, Albert, Edgar, John, Akers and Francis Washburn. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, and was retired from Sara Lee Knitting.
Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her husband, Clarence Hopkins of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Lynn Hopkins of Patrick Springs and Larry and Eva Hopkins of Stuart; five grandchildren, Josh Hopkins, Ryan Hopkins, Justin Hopkins, Casey Northam and Monica Lively; one great-grandchild, Ryder Hopkins; two sisters, Vivian Turner of Danville, Bernice Fulcher of Martinsville; and one brother, Troy Washburn of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hopkins will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. David Westmoreland and Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
