Mrs. Rosa Lee Moncus Goins

Mrs. Rosa Lee Moncus Goins, 80, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. She was born in Surry County on August 27, 1935 to the late John Luther and Myrtle Hall Moncus. Mrs. Goins is survived by her special friend of 27 years, Roger Cooper; sons and daughter-in-law, Gene Goins, Mike Goins, Johnny and Meegan Goins and Bobby Goins; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Helena Moncus. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goins was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia “Pat Douglas; a sister, Cleo Richardson and three brothers, Robert, Curtis and Marvin Moncus. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Sands officiating. Burial will follow in the Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Roaring Gap Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, Roaring Gap Baptist Church, P.O. Box 304, Lowgap, NC 27024.
