Mrs. Roxie Odella Bobbitt Blizard

Mrs. Roxie Odella Bobbitt Blizard, age 84 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at her son's home. Mrs. Blizard was born in Surry County on May 1, 1928 to Royce Anderson Bobbitt, Sr. and Elizabeth Beck Bobbitt. She was retired from Kentucky Derby Hosiery and was a member of Rockford Street United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Donald Blizard, Sr. and Brenda of Mt. Airy; two grandsons and spouses, Donald Gray Blizard, Jr. and Amy, Mt. Airy, Michael Ryan and Beth, Mt. Airy, six great grandchildren, Savannah, Madison, Dylan, Devin, Emma and Quinton Blizard all of Mt. Airy, a sister, Norine Collins, Mt. airy, a sister-in-law, Patsy Bobbitt, Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blizard was preceded in death by a grandchild, Angela Blizard, a sister, Lola Jones, a brother, Royce Anderson Bobbitt, Jr. and two brothers-in-law, Harvey Collins and Lacy Jones. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until the hour of the service.
