Mrs. Ruby Irene Hill Flinchum

Mrs. Ruby Irene Hill Flinchum, 87, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday April 14, 2018, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on December 9, 1930 to the late John D. and Bertha Mills Hill. Mrs. Flinchum was retired from Tharrington School and was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Forrest Connell and David, a daughter-in-law, Kaye Flinchum; grandchildren and spouses, Amy Quesinberry and Scott, Suzanne Sanchez and Edward, Misty Kay Utt, Christy Goins and Daniel, Edgar Jackson Flinchum, IV and Haw Shen, Chip Flinchum and Angela , fourteen great grandchildren and a brother, David Hill. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flinchum was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Jackson Flinchum, Jr.; a son, Edgar Jackson Flinchum, III, five sisters, and five brothers. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Cogdill officiating. The family will receive friends 1:00 pm Wednesday until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
