Mrs. Ruby Combs Jenkins

Mrs. Ruby Faye Combs Jenkins, 72, of Dobson passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wilkes County on January 17, 1940 to the late Arlis Ray and Dorothy Jane Blevins Combs. Mrs. Jenkins was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her family. She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and Chris Groce of Sparta, Tenn., Cathy and Hammer Holbrook of Thurmond, Loretta and Gary Lindsey of Dobson, Starlene and Tony Nelson of Elkin and Glenda and Marty Lowe of Dobson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie and Linda Jenkins of Thurmond and Michael and Tina Jenkins of Ash, NC; twelve beloved grandchildren T.J, Josh, Terry, Katina, Patrick, Brian, Bradley, Amanda, Victoria, Sheila, Brittany and Caleb; six step-grandchildren, Toby, Lane, Jamie, Alan, Jessica and Ashley; seven great-children, Isaac, Josh, Brody, Katie, Jamie, Delilah, Brody; three step great-great grandchildren, Mason, Hunter, and Ash; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Retha and Ernest Woodie of Ronda and Bonnie and Rodney Byrd of Roaring River. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde William Jenkins; a sister Reba Ashley and three brothers, Richard Combs, Raymond Combs, Rufus Combs and Rodger Combs. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Gid Branch Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 6 to 8 pm where her body will remain until time to be carried to the church for the funeral service.
