Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Baliles

Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Baliles, age 93 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Landmark Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on May 18, 1919 to the late Louie Price Grogan and Lula Jane Smith Grogan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baliles was preceded in death by her husband, J. Curtis Baliles; three sisters, Irene Fisher, Dermis Spencer and Josephine Fagg; and four brothers, Everett, Busick, Kester, and Beverly Grogan. She was a charter member at Fairystone Baptist Church where she had been active with various committees, and had worked as a bookkeeper with Stanley Chevrolet.
Mrs. Baliles is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Cecil Achord of Virginia Beach; one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Freida Grogan of Phoenix, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Baliles will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Fairystone Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Clint Hopkins and Rev. Clint Conner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
