Mrs. Ruth S. Harnsberger

Mrs. Ruth Smoot Harnsberger, age 95 of Stuart passed away Sunday morning in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was born in Amherst County to the late George and Amelia Scharr Smoot. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, William L. Harnsberger; one sister, Dorothy Miller; and five brothers, Lester, Walter, Roy, Clarence, and Elmer Smoot. Mrs. Harnsberger was a longtime member of Stuart United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Ruthie C. Harnsberger of Stuart; one son and daughter-in-law, William L., Jr. and Carolyn Harnsberger of Patrick Springs; two grandchildren, Sara Thompson and husband, Scott , Matt Harnsberger and wife, Christy; three great grandchildren, Nash Thompson, Kyleigh Harnsberger, Bryce Harnsberger; and one brother, Earl Smoot of Baltimore, MD.
There will be a graveside service held Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Stuart Cemetery with Dr. Clyde Deloach officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stuart United Methodist Church, P O Box 946, Stuart, VA 24171. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is handling the arrangements.
