Mrs. Sarah Cockerham Duncan

Mrs. Sarah Cockerham Duncan, age 86 of Mt. Airy passed away at her home Tuesday, October 2, 2012. Mrs. Duncan was born in McDowell County, W VA on July 28, 1926 to the late Walter Samuel and Clara Belle Harden Jarrett. Mrs. Duncan was a faithful member of New Bethel Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Hudson and husband, Tim, Coldwater, MS, two sons, Ronnie Cockerham and Ronnie's, Darlene, Mt. Airy, NC, Bill Cockerham and wife, Glenda. Mt. Airy, NC, a special nephew and wife, Bobby and Cloann Titan, Mt. Airy, NC, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Cockerham and her second husband, Hobart Duncan, two sisters, Thelma Rizzo and Laura Titan and four brothers, Howard, Oscar, Donald and Earl Jarrett. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, October 5, 2012 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Jimmy McCraw. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 12:30 pm Friday until time of the funeral service at Moody Funeral Home.
