Mrs. Sarah Belcher "Winnie" Hylton, age 95 of Woolwine, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Skyline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Floyd. She was born in Floyd County on June 29, 1915 to the late R. L. and India Boyd Belcher. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hylton was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Arthur Hylton; one daughter, Marie Hylton; one sister; and five brothers. She was a member of Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church, and had worked for Bassett Chair.
Mrs. Hylton is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Inez and B. C. Martin of Woolwine; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and JoAnne Hylton, Winifred and Christine Hylton, all of Stuart; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Wreathie Hylton of Bassett; and one brother, Samuel Belcher of Woolwine.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hylton will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Kenneth Terry officiating. Burial will follow in the Joe Conner Family Cemetery in Meadows of Dan. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
