Mrs. Sarah Louise Phillips Norman, 68, of Dobson passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Joan and Howard Woltz Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Randolph County on May 12, 1943 to the late Roy William and Mary Etta Poindexter Phillips. Mrs. Norman was a homemaker and a member of White Plains Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to her family and to the service of the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Lawrence Phillip Norman, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Billy Barker of Georgia and Marty and Travis Hawks of Mount Airy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Kim Norman of Ararat and Joey and Crystle Norman of Mount Airy; her beloved grandchildren, Elisabeth and Rachel Barker, Heather Norman Gresham and husband Matt, Alex and Sarah Norman, Rebekah, JohnDavid and Bethany Hawks. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Norman was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Glenn and Edna Phillips and Cranford Phillips. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at White Plains Baptist Church where her body will remain until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 6 to 8 pm.
