Mrs. Sarah Ruth Reece

Mrs. Sarah Ruth Reece, age 80 passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on March 14, 1931 to the late Jacob and Delia Love Coon. She retired from Sara Lee and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. Mrs. Reece is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Paul Hawks of Mt. Airy; a son, Dino Green of Mt. Airy; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reece was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Reece; a daughter, Charlsie Ruth Myers; a granddaughter, Misty Dawn Myers; sisters, Mary Jenny Coon, Peg Coon Lowry, Elizabeth Coon Slate, Myrtle Coon Muncy and Magaline Coon Danley; brothers, Pete Coon, Paul "Bud" Coon and Bill Coon. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, September 5, 2011 at White Plains Baptist Church by Rev. Tom Delp and Rev. Dale Hawks. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1:00 until the time of the service. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is assisting the Reece Family.
