Mrs. Shelby Simmons Smith

Mrs. Shelby Simmons Smith, age 75 of King, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Priddy Manor in King. Mrs. Smith was born in Surry County on March 7, 1938 to Arthur and Lottie Bennett Simmons. She was the former co-owner of King International Corp. Mrs. Smith leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, a son and daughter-in-law, George C. Smith, Jr. and Michelle S. Smith of King; a grandson, George C. Smith, III; a granddaughter, Kristen Lee Smith; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Tim Holt of Pilot Mountain and a niece, Megan Holt. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Smith, Sr. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home by Rev. Butch Holder. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
