Mrs. Shelby Jean Burkhart Snow

Mrs. Shelby Jean Burkhart Snow, 61, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Colonial Care Assisting Living in Mt. Airy. She was born in Surry County on February 25, 1955 to the late Claude and Lillian Hicks Burkhart. Mrs. Snow was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by a son, David Snow of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Destiny Snow and Grant Snow of Mt. Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Bruce D’Amico of Mt. Airy; two brothers, Ronnie Burkhart, and Robert Burkhart both of Mt. Airy; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Snow was preceded in death by a son, Jason Snow; two sisters, Ava Whitaker, and Diane Burkhart; a brother, Denny Burkhart. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Young officiating. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special thank you to Mark Payne and the staff of Colonial Care Assisted Living, and to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care given to Mrs. Snow.
