Mrs. Shelia "Penny" Ann Hawks Gwyn

Mrs. Sheila “Penny” Ann Hawks Gwyn, age 62, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Forsyth County, July 11, 1955, to the late Thomas Howard and Wilma Journey Hawks. She was a loving wife, mother, nana, and will be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, William “Larry” Gwyn Sr.; daughters, Candace “Candi” Smith, and Torie Dixon; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew Gwyn and wife Jessica; step son and daughter-in-law, William “Willie” Gwyn Jr. and wife Christie, grandchildren, Colburn Gwyn, Laken Key and husband Kenneth, Sidney Gwyn, Carmen Smith, Ty Gwyn, and Quintin Gwyn; great grandchildren, Kimberley Jones, and Conner Key sister and brother-in-law, Janet Hunter and husband Rick, brothers and a sister-in-law, Tommy Hawks and special friend Shirley Woods, Jimmy Dale Hawks and wife Rita. In addition to her parents Mrs. Gwyn was preceded in death by twin sons, Larry and Barry Gwyn; a sister, Revonda Arrington, and brothers, Roy and Roger “Dean” Hawks. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Zane Fishel and Rev. Randy Edwards. Burial will follow in Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church. Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
