On Tuesday evening, February 20, 2018 our loving wife, mother and friend went home to be with her Heavenly Father. Sherry Snow Scott was a beautiful, selfless and caring soul who always put others before herself and enjoyed life to the fullest. Sherry never met a stranger and she made everyone feel welcome in her heart and home. She loved crafting, gardening, quilting, farming and cooking. Above all of these things, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ even more. Sherry served the Lord many years in church and the community, and also stood by her husbands side for nearly 27 years. She worked with her husband on the farm, was a home maker, a loving mother, and a friend to all. To know Sherry was to love her. She had the kindest and purest heart of gold that was always willing to help others. She devoted herself to her Lord, church, husband and daughters entirely, and for that we are truly blessed. There is one thing we are certain of, and that is that Sherry is walking with the Lord and she has a glorified and perfect body now. Sherry’s testimony was something she tried to share each and every day and she knew when the Lord called her name, that she was ready to go and meet Jesus. Because of this, we have full assurance that we will see our sweet loved one again.
She was born in Surry County on June 3, 1970, to the Gary Snow and to Yvonne Calhoun Atkins. She was a home maker, a member of Anchored in Jesus Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Perry Scott of the home; daughters and son-in-law Courtney and Blake Oakley of Dobson, Kayla Scott of the home; her mother and step father Yvonne and Bob Atkins of Low Gap; father and step mother, Gary and Rita Snow of Dobson; half-sister and half-brother-in-law, Amy and Doug Clement of Mt. Airy; half-brother Justin Snow and his fiancée Kristi Stoker of Dobson. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Lloyd and Lavern Snow, also by Beulah Marion.
