Mrs. Shirley Frances Arrington Martin

Mrs. Shirley Frances Arrington Martin, 78, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on January 18, 1937 to the late Lacy Edgar and Dorothy Inman Arrington. Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and was a member of Family Fellowship Chapel. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She loved her family and her Lord. She is survived by a daughter and sons-in-law, Toni and Dan Young, Daniel Kovach all of Mt. Airy; a son and daughters-in-law, Wesley and Donna Martin of Mt. Airy, Sue Martin all of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Erika and Tracy Goings, Drew Martin and Laini Hicks, Emma Martin, Lake Martin, and Kyle Martin; a great grandchild, Carter Goings; sisters and brother-in-law, Jean and Joe Bill Adams, Wanda Lawson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Wesley Martin, Sr.; a daughter, Shannon Kovach; a son, David Martin. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Family Fellowship Chapel with the Rev. Chris Bookman, and the Rev. Alex Martin officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 until time for the service at the church. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of the ICU at Northern Hospital of Surry County for the love and care given to their mother. Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
