Mrs. Stella Odell Hylton

Mrs. Stella Odell Hylton, age 81 of Martinsville, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the Blue Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville. She was born in Stokes County on June 5, 1928 to the late Homer and Stella Ann Shelton Nelson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hylton was preceded in death by a son, Larry Hylton, and her twin sister, Orell Parrish. She had worked for W.M. Bassett Furniture Industries, and was of the Holiness faith.
Mrs. Hylton is survived by her husband, William Robert Hylton of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Jimmy Campbell of Ridgeway, Pearl and Skip Moore of Spencer, Deborah and Ray Handy of Martinsville and Sandra and Larry Ayers of Spencer; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Frances Hylton of Bassett; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hylton will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Delmas Rorrer officiating. Burial will follow in the Roberson Family Cemetery.
