Mrs. Susan Puckett Goad

Mrs. Susan Puckett Goad, age 90 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on April 11, 1922 to the late Jonah and Laura Cockram Puckett. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goad was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Goad; one son, Bobby L. Goad; four brothers, James, Ward, Edwin and Bud Puckett; and three sisters, Dorothy Hooker, Ruth Ayers and Irene Hogan. She was of the Holiness faith, and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Mrs. Goad is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Jimmy Holt of Patrick Springs; five grandchildren, Darrell Goad and wife, Carey, Sherrie Olichweir, Jason Goad and wife, Michelle, Brad Holt and wife, Alison, Michelle Collins and husband, Randall; nine great-grandchildren, Derrick Goad, Ryan Goad, Ashley Goad, Tyler Goad, Jennifer Goad, Shyanne Holt, Brooke Collins, Caitlyn Collins and Jake Holt; and two great-great-grandchildren, Haylie Goad and Austin Burns.
Funeral services for Mrs. Goad will be held Monday, March 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Wayne Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Darlene Holt.
