Mrs. Susie Lois Lawrence Brown

Mrs. Susie Lois Lawrence Brown, 91, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday evening, November 13, 2014, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Brown was born December 12, 1922, in Surry County, to the late Henry Clay Lawrence, III and Mae Smith Lawrence. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Leon Brown; two sisters, Flossie Jewel Snow and Helen Outlaw; three brothers, Davis Lawrence, Graham Lawrence, and Dorsey Lawrence; and special friends, Dr. Eduardo Hernandez and Josie Watson. Lois retired from Tultex, Inc. and was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by three sisters, Betty Adams of Elkin, Dorothy Bowman of Dobson, and Juanita Thompson of Orlando FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Gray and Opal Lawrence of Mount Airy; a sister-in-law, Mondell Lawrence of Dobson; and a special niece and her husband, Cynthia and Steffen Haynes of Dobson. The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 16, 2014, at 4:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Trent Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM at the church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Brown family.
