Mrs. Susie Wood Stanley

Mrs. Susie Magdalene Wood Stanley, age 88 of Dobson, NC passed away on Saturday August 20, 2011 at Dunmore Plantation in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on November 24, 1922 to the late Pete Wood Sr. and the late Elita Slaydon Wood. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ford Manuel Stanley; and one son Billy Ray Stanley Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Brother Cecil and Brenda Stanley of Dobson; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; Sister-in-law and brother-in-law Linda and Larry Hamlin of Mt. Airy. A memorial service will be held at Open Door Baptist Church on Thursday 2:00 P.M. August 25, 2011 with Brother Kevin Blevins and Rev. Barlow Stanley conducting the service. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Stanley family.
