Mrs. Tella Mae Cockram

Mrs. Tella Mae Conner Cockram, age 97 of Meadows of Dan passed away Wednesday evening at Twin County Hospital in Galax. She was born on Sept. 13, 1910 in Patrick County to the late John Robert "Shack" Conner and Rosie Jane Boyd Conner. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bunnie Lawrence Cockram; one sister, Fannie Conner Garns; and seven brothers, Beamer, Luster, John, Jim, Ross, Tom, and Joe Conner. Mrs. Cockram was a member of Conner's View Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sisters in law; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Mountain View United Methodist Church with Pastor Terry Martin and Bill Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is handling the arrangements.
