Mrs. Thelma Doris George

Mrs. Thelma Doris George, age 81 of Westfield, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy, North Carolina. She was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on January 8, 1932 to the late Alvis V. and Elsie Dunkley Beasley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. George was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd George; a son, Steven Mark Kallam; and a niece, Kathy Dawn Beasley. She was a longtime member of Collinstown Presbyterian Church, and had worked for J.P. Stevens.
Mrs. George is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James and Judy Kallam of Lawsonville, North Carolina; one grandson, Corey Kallam and wife, Elisa; one brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Lovis Beasley of Westfield; and a special friend, Sara Rodgers of Westfield.
Funeral services for Mrs. George will be held Friday, June 14, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Mark Wright and Pastor Terry Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Collinstown Presbyterian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Collinstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, c/o David Williams, 1279 Gray Circle Road, Westfield, North Carolina 27053.
