Mrs. Thelma Riddle Inman, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy. She was born in Surry County on January 17, 1921 to the late Floyd and Ada Belle Sparger Riddle. Mrs. Inman was a home maker and a faithful member of Holly Springs Baptist Church until her health declined. Mrs. Inman had been a Sunday school teacher, director of Vacation Bible School, an avid singer in the choir and president of WMU at Holly Springs Baptist Church. She was a former president of Holly Springs Home Extension Club. She is survived by a daughter, Wanda East of Mt. Airy; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Inman was preceded in death by her husband, John “Tom” Inman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mallie Riddle Love and Aldie, Treva Riddle Kirkman and Glen, and Phatima Riddle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sherman Riddle and Elsie, John Riddle and Ethel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayburn Mosley officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 374 Holly Springs Rd., Mt. Airy NC 27030 or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is serving the Inman family.
