Mrs. Thelma Christine Wall Simpson

Mrs. Thelma Christine Wall Simpson, 96, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living. She was born in Surry County on June 9, 1921 to the late Roby Dallas and Agnes Edwards Wall. Mrs. Simpson retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company and was a faithful Member of Julian Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Simpson was an avid gardener. She is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Roxie Jane and Ron Vogler, Eva Vogler; brother and sister-in-law, Willis and Margaret Wall; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her husband, Wilber Simpson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Effie and William “Sparky” Vogler, Vicie and Lewis McHone, Irene and Harvey Johnson, Ila and George Key, John Vogler; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Clarice Wall. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Gilmore Memorial Park with Elder Richard Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends after the graveside service.
