Mrs. Tina Renee Flippin Lawson, 52 of Pilot Mountain passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. She was born on October 11, 1964 in Surry County to Carolyn Ann Lambert Flippin and the late Wade Delmar Flippin. Mrs. Lawson worked as a substitute teacher for Surry County Schools and was a faithful member of Believers Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was also known as the “Candy Lady” by all the children at church. In addition to her precious mother, Mrs. Lawson is survived by her loving husband, James Irving Lawson; her adored daughters, Hilda and Kimberly Lawson; her sister and brother-in-law, Tonya Kay and Thomas Hill; her special nephew, Matthew Hill and great nephews, Matthew Jr., and Levi Hill; and by all her loving church family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Believers Baptist Church with Dewayne Sands officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday evening at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
